About the Course
Brief Description
Infection Prevention & Control Boot Camp is a two-day intensive course that provides the novice Infection Preventionist with all the basic skills necessary to establish an Infection Prevention & Control Program in long-term care facilities.
The program should be attended by new practitioners or those wanting a beginning refresher course.
This program is an in-person class that "connects the dots" learned from all the classes and training the Infection Preventionist has attended on creating an effective Infection Prevention & Control Program.
Course Objectives
At the completion of the course, participant will be able to
Understand the role of the Infection Preventionist in the long-term care setting
Set up an Infection Prevention & Control Program in a long-term care facility​ including the following components:
Surveillance
Investigation
Prevention
Control
Reporting
Who Should Attend This Course
This course is a comprehensive training for Infection Preventionists (IPs) in Long-Term Care. It meets the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) requirement for training of persons in that role. The course is open to anyone interested in this training but is most helpful to Long-Term Care persons who are serving, or interested, in the following capacities:

Persons selecting this option will attend a live two-day in-person class. Participants must attend the entire conference for full continuing education credits. Attendance at this venue offers the participants an opportunity to interact directly with the course faculty.
